( According to Mousekipedia, the official Merrymouse Wiki, there’s a secret apartment where Mathison Mauswick Jr. used to stay whenever he visited the premises. There, it is said he sketched quietly in the corner, eating saltless and pepperless hard-boiled eggs with sugarless black coffee, listening to old opera records. There were no windows in this suite, as per his request, though allegedly the walls were thinly constructed so he could hear the uproarious laughter of all the joy he brought about in his fans. . . Just a drab little space fit for a lonely king.       

 

One unconfirmed trivia tidbit - and you won’t find this anywhere on the Wiki!: he fooled around with stop motion a bit just before his death, even going so far as to film an entire experimental short in his bedroom, which it is said he hated. Most dispute this, citing his hate of the technology.          ...Anyway, this apartment was the first place I sought out when I found my way here, but when I finally found it I couldn’t bring even myself to cross the threshold. )
